Artwork Description
A solitary black bird stands in silence, while a striking human figure emerges from the opposite side of the composition, cutting sharply into the surrounding space.
Built around a powerful palette of black, red, blue, and yellow, the work combines geometric abstraction with distressed surfaces, cracks, drips, scratches, and layered textures to explore memory embedded within the city and the figures that continue to inhabit it.
The composition deliberately creates tension between two presences: the bird occupying a vast field of negative space and the intense gaze of the figure on the right.
Observer and observed, stillness and movement, order and disorder coexist within a single visual field.
The distant skyline does not represent a specific city. Instead, it functions as an imagined urban memory—a place somewhere between reality, recollection, and myth.
Weathered textures evoke aging murals, torn posters, concrete walls, and layers of accumulated time, giving the artwork a physical presence that feels simultaneously contemporary and archaeological.
Its character changes with viewing distance.
From afar, the bold portrait and geometric color fields dominate. Up close, scratches, splashes, fragmented surfaces, and subtle traces of the city gradually reveal themselves.
Designed to command space without relying on decorative excess, the work is particularly suited to modern, industrial, and minimalist interiors, as well as galleries, hotels, offices, studios, and commercial spaces where a strong visual focal point is desired.
